Sri Lankan Stilt Fishermen
On the southern tip of Sri Lanka near the town of Weligama, Sri Lankan “Stilt Fishermen” continue an ages-old method of fishing in the surf just off the beach. Standing on stilts placed into the sandy ocean floor, they climb these precarious perches, fishing with light lines for very small fish.
