Deliriumby Kristina Davies
Acrylic on Canvas

For me, painting it is a spiritual journey that helps me make sense of our humanity and our place within the universe. When I approach a blank canvas, I have a conceptual idea in my mind, but not a composition. I allow the creative process of gesture, intuition, and movement to evolve. Each layer, each addition, each brushstroke, each deconstruction, each mark...they all work together to represent a feeling, an injustice, an observation, a passion. Currently, the paintings I've been working on are a direct reflection of the times in which we find ourselves in 2020. Using the visual language of abstraction, "Delirium," was painted as a release from the uncertainty and loneliness during quarantine, an elimination of the angst in our minds.
